








Overview
This 7-day safari in Uganda combines wildlife adventures with cultural experiences. Starting in Entebbe, you’ll explore Kibale Forest National Park, known as “primate paradise,” for close encounters with chimpanzees and other primates. Enjoy chimpanzee trekking and a guided nature walk in Bigodi Wetland. In Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, you’ll trek to see the endangered mountain gorillas. Lake Mburo National Park offers a boat ride, night game drive, and a bush walk, providing diverse wildlife sightings. Along the way, enjoy stunning landscapes and engage with local cultures, making this safari an unforgettable experience.
Itinerary
Day 1 :
Arrival
Arrive at Entebbe International airport, Uganda where you will meet with our driver guide who will welcome you. Thereafter, transfer you a to your hotel check in, have dinner and rest for the day.
Day 2 :
Kibale Forest National Park
After breakfast at your hotel, you will check out of the rooms and our guide will take you to visit Kibale Forest National Park also known as "primate paradise''. You will enjoy the ride to Fort Portal with a beautiful view of tea plantations. On the way you will have a stopover for lunch and enjoy your packed lunch. Arrive in time for evening game drive where you will expect to see famous cousins the Chimpanzee, Red Colobus Monkeys, black and white colobus, Olive baboons, Vervet Monkeys and L’Hoest’s. Besides, there are forest elephants which are smaller and with a lot of hair as well as unique birds that are interesting to watch. After the safari return to your hotel rooms for dinner and overnight stay in readiness for the next day's activities.
Day 3 :
Chimpanzee Trekking
After sumptuous breakfast you will go for a chimpanzee tracking experience.
Our guide will brief you about the experience and then you will go forth to walk or drive to the trailhead for the start of the thrilling excursion within a family of chimpanzees. You will have a humble time to observe how they go about their daily lives. i.e grooming, howling and screeching, feeding, taking care of the young once as well as playing.
After the trekking experience, you will have lunch back at the hotel before embarking in the afternoon guided nature walk through the Bigodi wetland (well known for diversity of birds and primates). This community walk will bring you closer to the local tribe that lives in this area and is about 4km in length taking 3-4 hours at birding pace. Accompanied by a local guide, who can tell you everything about the traditional customs and lifestyle, you will follow the village path and visit a primary school, traditional homesteads and learn more about the crops in the fields. In the evening you will go back to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4 :
Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park
After breakfast you will check out of your rooms and the driver guide will transfer you to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National park- home of the endangered mountain gorillas. On the way you will pass by the vast savannah plains of Queen Elizabeth National Park where you will go in search of the tree climbing lions. At lunch time you will have a stopover for picnic lunch. Arrive in time for an evening game drive after check in a refreshing. The Bwindi National Park is one of the Uganda's oldest parks with diverse species of plants, birds and mammals e.g. bats, rodents, baboons, gorillas, chimpanzee, antelopes and elephants. Additionally, it is a home of the rare but critically endangered Mountain Gorillas (gorilla beringei beringei).
Day 5 :
Gorilla Trekking
On this day you will spend tracking Gorillas. So after breakfast you will go to the encounter the gentle giants. A family of gorilla will be allocated for you as well as a guide who will give you appropriate safety precautions. Expect to walk between 2 and 8 hours in steep and sometimes muddy conditions with rain overhead, which can be tough and require a degree of (average) fitness. However, the thrill of coming face to face with a giant Mountain Gorilla silverback completely makes up for the effort! Later on, you hike back to base where your driver will be waiting to transfer you to the lodge for lunch and freshen up or dinner depending on the time taken on the trek. Later on take a rest for the day.
Day 6 :
Lake Mburo National Park
On this day, after breakfast you will check out and our driver will transfer you to Lake Mburo National Park. On the way you will stopover for lunch at Igongo Cultural Center. The center demonstrates the culture and traditional way of life of the local people of the area i.e. a museum, traditional homesteads and garden with indigenous trees and plants. There will be wildlife ready to be spotted as soon as you enter the park. Arrive in time for check in to your rooms. After refreshing up, you will go on a boat ride on the lake to view the rich bird life and many hippos that are cooling off. This is one of the few parks that you can watch wildlife after the sun has set. Later on, have an early dinner before going on an optional (at extra fee) night game drive in an open Land Rover with spotlight. This special game drive of 2-3 hours provides good chances of seeing the animals that are rare to see during the day. e.g bush pigs, genet cats and white tailored mongoose. The other animals that can be seen are the elusive leopard, the one male lion and other nocturnal animals.
Day 7 :
Departure
This will be your last day in Uganda. Though to start the day well, you will go for a bush walk guided by a ranger. Experience a safari on foot that will allow you to notice the smaller, often overlooked, details and usually brings you much closer to the wildlife than when in a car. Thereafter, return to the lodge for breakfast and with an enroute game drive you will bid lake Mburo goodbye. On the way to the airport you will pass the Equator where we you’ll make a stop for lunch, photos and souvenir shopping.
Arrival will be late in the afternoon in Entebbe, in time to connect with your flight back home.
